Sometime ago I heard a sentence whose author I can’t quite remember that goes like this: it doesn’t matter what to paint, but it does matter how to paint. I think that each work provides a meeting with new problems, new solutions, new possibilities, which are the same as those at the beginning of each artist’s career, added to time and daily exercise of painting. I think I am still painting the very first painting all the time, perhaps what I want from it and with it might be unreachable, but it keeps pushing me.
