Painting landscapes is one of the most gratifying exercises because it provides the artist a direct contact with the chosen site and its subtleties, like light, scents, movements, and the opportunity to be with friends when one does group work in the field.
I have already done this exercise countless times with my painters friends like Marcelo Peregrino, Sandro Maciel and sometimes with Robeto Ploeg. The interaction between the painter and the landscape chosen and its light, its elements, is undefinable and outstanding, reassuring and uncanny. |
